The past few years have been of particular significance because it was during this period that Ras Al Khaimah's development initiatives witnessed an accelerated growth in line with the changing dynamics of an increasingly inter-connected global economy. In addition to being an excellent tourist haven, Ras Al Khaimah has evolved into a magnet of business and industrial investments from all corners of the world, while opening new gateways for people from different countries and cultures to experience the unique and exciting lifestyle offerings of the emirate.
Giving credit where it's due for the emirate's superb achievements of late, I would like to commend the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA), which has done a wonderful job in promoting the sustainable development of Ras Al Khaimah. Established in 2005, RAKIA has greatly exceeded our expectations in its fundamental responsibility of promoting the socioeconomic growth of the emirate. In fact, with RAKIA at the helm, I am proud to say that Ras Al Khaimah has now emerged as one of the fastest growing economies in the region, and we are poised to achieve even more success as RAKIA continues to implement and conceptualize new and innovative development initiatives across the emirate and beyond.
