A high level Investors Meet was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Paris on 23 rd of November 2007 which was organized by the Economist, U.K. The theme of the half day programme was “Investing in Ras Al Khaimah-an emerging investments opportunity in the U.A.E.’ The meeting was graced with his presence by His Royal Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and was attended by top level CEO’s, Bankers, Investments Organization’s Heads & people from the Media. RAKIA team was led by the CEO, Dr. Khater Massaad along with GM RAKIA, GM RAK Offshore and Global Head Sales & Marketing.
The meeting started with the inaugural remarks by Mr. David Butter Senior Editor, The Economist, who elaborated the theme of the conference to the participants and urged them to pro-actively involve themselves to take away the maximum benefits from the conference.
Dr. Khater Massaad, CEO RAKIA made a detailed presentation in the French language to the audience (which was tremendously appreciated) in which he covered not only the policies of RAKIA but also the Vision of H.H. This was followed by the speech by GM RAKIA and a presentation by Mr. Vijay Arumbakkam Partner KPMG in U.A.E. Subsequently, executive discussion sessions were held covering the entire gamut of all the issues related to infrastructure, policies and benefits of investments and future prospects, viz Ras Al Khaimah.
The highlight of the programme was the keynote address delivered by H.H. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah who presented his vision of sustainable growth for Ras Al Khaimah. The address of H.H. was received with rapt attention by the audience which led to an interactive Q & A session. H.H. personally replied to all the queries by the prospective investors and explained the details of the benefits of investing in Ras Al Khaimah. The audience gave a standing ovation to H.H. for his exhilarating speech. The session closed with the summation and closing remarks of Mr. David Butter and was followed by lavish luncheon. H.H. was also interviewed by the leading Newspapers of France which received wide coverage in the Media. Overall the event was a grand success.
